Justyne joined Valent Legal in the fall of 2020 and now works with us as an Articling Clerk. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from Dalhousie University in 2017 and her law degree from Dalhousie University in June 2021. She has received awards for a high standard of excellence and academic achievement, and holds a Certificate in Criminal Justice.
Justyne’s passion for social justice has prompted her involvement in several access to justice initiatives. She has volunteered with the 7th Step Society in partnership with the Pro Bono Dalhousie program, as well as the Community Justice Society. Justyne has also completed work at the Dartmouth Provincial Court and with Nova Scotia Legal Aid.
During law school, Justyne was a member of the Dalhousie Black Law Student Association and the Dalhousie Student Union Judicial Board. She currently sits on the Governance Committee for the Elizabeth Fry Society.
Outside of her legal work, Justyne enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, playing soccer, and writing poetry.
