Communities Around Nova Scotia

The team at Valent Legal has a deep and abiding connection to communities throughout Nova Scotia. We want to improve people’s lives, not just by showing strength and compassion in advocacy of our clients, but also by reaching out to our community where we can and making a practical difference. We actively look for opportunities to get involved and to offer real, tangible assistance, sharing our time, effort, and resources.

Nova Scotia is a region with great natural beauty and a rich history. To us, just like our clients, it is home. We serve communities across the province, such as Halifax, Dartmouth, Sydney, Truro, New Glasgow, Antigonish, and Amherst. Each of these have their own unique challenges and opportunities for us to help.

Here are just a few of the ways in which Valent Legal
has worked in the Nova Scotia community:

Canadian/American Spinal Research Association

We were one of the sponsors of the LOL Comedy Night event for the Canadian/American Spinal Research Association. This hilarious evening raised donations for research toward seeking a cure for spinal cord injuries.

Local Food Banks

We work with the Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank in Halifax to provide much-needed supplies for families in need. We adopted a family for Christmas in order to give them a delicious holiday dinner, and donated $300 for Christmas hampers for other families. In addition, we hosted a food drive to collect more donations for the bank.

Lids for Kids

Lids for Kids is an organization that aims to provide children in need across Canada with CSPC-standard safety helmets. At Valent Legal, we know that their minds will create our future, so we need to keep those heads safe! We are passionate about cyclist safety and we are proud to partner with an organization that allows kids to enjoy our famously beautiful Nova Scotia landscape without worrying about injury.

Elizabeth Fry Society

We have an active partnership with this essential non-profit organization that aims to build and strengthen communities by supporting women through education, employment, and housing. We are pleased to perform pro bono advocacy work and offer legal advice as-needed to support the work of this important society.

Real Change For Real People

As you can see, we are real people advocating for real change in a community that we love. Because of this, we treat our clients as not just numbers, but neighbors—and we work hard to give our neighbors the best possible experience when they come to us for help. Our five-star rating gives us the confidence to offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Seeking legal counsel can be stressful, and may come as the result of an emotionally challenging situation. We show the same compassion we demonstrate in our dealings with the community to every person who comes to us looking for help.

Our experienced lawyers, including Chuck Ford, have a stellar history of winning LTD cases. Chuck is an excellent example of our firm’s commitment to giving back to our community, as an active member of 100 Men Who Care (Bedford) and a finalist for Volunteer of the Year in Bedford, NS (2008).
