If you’re a passenger in an Uber and you’re involved in an accident with an at-fault vehicle, all of your rights are essentially the same as if you’re a passenger in any other vehicle.
There’s a few minor differences. Uber would have their own insurance provider, and you would get your accident benefits claim through their insurance. The one thing that you want to make sure you do is just log the information for the ride itself.
Like the make and model of the car, the time, the place, the driver’s name, and get the other driver’s information if you can, because oftentimes if you’re a passenger in an Uber, people just kind of let the driver take care of everything and they go on their way and they don’t have the information they need. So just make sure you log that information before you leave the scene of the collision if at all possible.
